DFA: 12 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Twelve more Filipinos abroad on Thursday have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 10,861, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

According to the DFA, total recoveries also climbed to 6,915 after 10 new ones while the death toll remained at 800.

At present, there are 3,146 patients still undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 1,709 cases in Asia and the Pacific region. Among this, 500 patients are undergoing treatment, 1,200 have recovered, and nine have succumbed to the illness.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 7,137 cases with 2,312 patients undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 4,307 recoveries and 518 fatalities.

Meanwhile, Europe has reported a total of 1,205 cases. There are 168 patients still undergoing treatment in the region while 942 have recovered and 95 have died.

A total of 810 cases are recorded in the Americas, with 166 patients still undergoing treatment, 466 recoveries, and 178 fatalities. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
