DFA: 10 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 11,239 on Friday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 10 new infections.

According to the DFA, total recoveries also climbed to 7,262 with 3 new ones while the death toll remained at 817.

Meanwhile, there are still 3,160 patients undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,805 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region. Of this, 522 are still undergoing treatment while 1,274 have recovered and nine have succumbed to the illness.

In the Middle East or Africa, there were 7,380 cases with 2,306 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 4,542 and 532, respectively.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,238 cases have been reported in Europe. Of this, 176 patients are undergoing treatment, 965 have recovered, and 97 have died.

The Americas have also reported 816 COVID-19 cases with 156 patients undergoing treatment, 481 recoveries, and 179 fatalities. — DVM, GMA News
