DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 11,417

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 11,417 on Friday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 7 new infections.

According to the DFA, the number of recoveries and fatalities remained at 7,364 and 828, respectively.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 3,225 Filipino nationals still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed there are a total of 1,843 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 533 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 1,301 recoveries and nine fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there were 7,492 cases recorded. Of this, 2,332 are undergoing treatment, 4,617 have recovered, and 543 have succumbed to the illness.

Europe also reported 1,266 confirmed cases with 204 still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 965 and 97, respectively.

Meanwhile, a total of 816 cases have been recorded in the Americas. Of this, 156 are patients undergoing treatment, 481 have recovered, and 179 have died. — DVM, GMA News
