Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 13,905 —DFA

Eight more Filipinos abroad on Thursday tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 13,905, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also reported that total recoveries climbed to 8,893 after 29 more Filipino patients recovered from the illness.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 945.

At present, there are 4,067 Filipino patients still undergoing treatment across the globe.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 2,770 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 775 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 1,974 and 21, respectively.

The Middle East or Africa has, meanwhile, reported 7,881 cases with 2,521 patients still undergoing treatment. A total of 4,754 patients in the region have recovered and 606 have succumbed to the illness.

A total of 2,440 Filipino nationals have also tested positive for the illness in Europe. Of this number, 693 are still undergoing treatment, 1,629 have recovered, and 118 have died.

Meanwhile, 814 cases have been recorded in the Americas with 78 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 536 recoveries and 200 fatalities.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
