Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 14,395 —DFA

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 14,395 on Friday with six new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Meanwhile, total recoveries and fatalities among Filipino nationals remained at 9,052 and 954, respectively.

At present, there are 4,389 active cases undergoing treatment.

“To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among Filipinos is now at 86, following a report received yesterday from a country in the Americas,” the DFA said.

Based on data from the DFA, a total of 2,796 Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19 in Asia and the Pacific region. Among this, 798 are undergoing treatment while 1,977 have recovered and 21 have died.

The DFA has also reported 8,073 cases in the Middle East or Africa with 2,709 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 4,754 and 610, respectively.

In Europe, a total of 2,685 cases have tested positive with 777 still undergoing treatment. The DFA said a total of 1,785 patients have recovered in the region while 123 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, the Americas has reported a total of 841 cases with 105 patients undergoing treatment, 536 recoveries, and 200 fatalities.—AOL, GMA News
