Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 14,878 —DFA


Five more Filipinos abroad on Friday have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 14,878, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

According to the DFA, total recoveries and fatalities remained at 9,366 and 1,016, respectively.

Meanwhile, 4,496 Filipino nationals are still undergoing treatment.

 

 

Data from the DFA showed a total of 2,925 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 805 patients still undergoing treatment. A total of 2,099 patients in the region have recovered while 21 have died.

The Middle East or Africa has also reported 8,131 cases with 2,713 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region are recorded at 4,755 and 663, respectively.

In Europe, a total of 2,949 Filipino nationals have tested positive for the illness, of which 894 are still undergoing treatment, 1,930 have recovered, and 125 have died.

Meanwhile, a total of 873 cases were recorded in the Americas with 84 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 582 recoveries and 207 fatalities.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
