DFA: 12 more Filipinos abroad succumb to COVID-19

Twelve more Filipinos abroad have succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 1,033, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday.

According to the DFA, the total case count also climbed to 15,052 with 29 new infections while 58 new recoveries brought the total to 9,513.

Meanwhile, there are 4,506 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 2,931 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region, of which 807 are still undergoing treatment, 2,103 have recovered, and 21 have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, a total of 8,131 Filipinos have tested positive for the illness with 2,712 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 4,755 recoveries and 664 fatalities.

Europe has reported 3,104 cases with 902 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 2,074 patients in the region have recovered while 128 have died.

Meanwhile, a total of 886 cases were reported in the Americas with 85 patients still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 581 and 220, respectively. -MDM, GMA News
