Ex-cop wanted for murder in the Philippines arrested in Abu Dhabi


A former police officer, who is facing a murder charge in the Philippines, has been arrested in Abu Dhabi, according to a report on Super Radyo's dzBB.

Carlo Mateo reported that the former police officer has been identified as PO3 Ruben Baliong, who was dismissed as he was reported to be AWOL or absent without leave.

Baliong was arrested in cooperation with the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime, Interpol due to the case of murder and physical injury.

Baliong has three other pending warrants of arrest, including a murder case.

His last post was in Mandaluyong City Police Station 3 where he was allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade and for allegedly being a contract killer.

He was able to leave the country last January 2019 and was able to work in Abu Dhabi as security officer. -- BAP, GMA News
