DFA: 15 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Fifteen more Filipinos abroad on Tuesday tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 15,865, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries climbed to 9,547 with 11 new ones while one more fatality brought the total to 1,041.

At present, there are 5,277 active cases undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed that 2,955 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 819 active cases undergoing treatment. A total of 2,115 patients have recovered and 21 have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, a total of 8,880 Filipinos have tested positive for the illness, of which 3,455 are still undergoing treatment; 4,755 have recovered, and 670 have died.

A total of 3,142 cases were also reported in Europe with 918 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported 2,096 recoveries and 128 fatalities.

Meanwhile, the Americas has recorded 888 cases with 85 patients still undergoing treatment. A total of 581 Filipinos in the region have recovered and 222 have died. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
