DFA: 31 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 16,040 on Thursday with 31 new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also reported that 20 more Filipino nationals have recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 9,722, while the death toll remained at 1,047.

Meanwhile, there are 5,271 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA a total of 3,008 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 853 active cases undergoing treatment. A total of 2,134 patients have recovered and 21 have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, a total of 8,884 Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 3,447 are still undergoing treatment, 4,764 have recovered, and 673 have died.

A total of 3,247 cases were also reported in Europe with 883 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 2,234 recoveries and 130 fatalities.

Meanwhile, the Americas has recorded 901 cases with 88 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 590 Filipinos in the region have recovered and 223 have died. -MDM, GMA News
