12 new COVID-19 cases recorded among Filipinos overseas —DFA

Twelve more Filipinos living in other countries were sickened with the coronavirus disease, raising the total number of cases to 16,581, the foreign affairs department figures showed on Wednesday.

On Twitter, the Department of Foreign Affairs also reported five new recoveries, increasing the total people who survived from the ailment to 10,070.

The COVID-19 death toll among Filipinos abroad reached 1,059, with one new reported fatality.

Additionally, 5,452 Filipinos in other countries are still undertaking treatment at hospitals.

Of the total, Filipinos living in the Middle East and Africa recorded the highest number of active cases, with 3,433.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases among Filipinos in the Asia Pacific Region rose to 1,042.

Active cases among Filipinos living in Europe were at 892 while those living in the Americas reached 85 active cases.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
