DFA: 19 more Filipinos abroad contracted COVID-19


 

 

 

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos overseas, raising the total tally to 18,160.

Total recoveries climbed to 11,162 after 13 more patients defeated the respiratory illness.

Meanwhile, the death toll also increased to 1,121 with six new fatalities.

So far, there are 5,877 patients undergoing treatment for the disease.

The Middle East/Africa still had the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 10,422, including 5,863 recoveries and 731 deaths.

The Asia Pacific Region followed with 3,477 cases including 2,394 recoveries and 26 deaths.

In Europe, a total of 3,332 cases have been recorded, of which 130 have died and 2,291 have recovered.

Moreover, in the Americas, 929 Filipinos have been infected with the viral disease. A total of 614 people have recovered, while 234 have died. — RSJ, GMA News
