DFA: 15 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Fifteen more Filipinos abroad on Saturday tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 18,237, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that the total number of recoveries rose to 11,190 with nine new ones, while the death toll climbed to 1,126 after three more succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, there were 5,921 patients still undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there were a total of 3,506 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 1,085 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 2,395 patients have recovered and 26 have died.

In the Middle East or Africa, a total of 10,436 Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 3,825 are still undergoing treatment, 5,879 have recovered, and 732 have died.

A total of 3,341 cases were also reported in Europe with 917 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 2,294 recoveries and 130 fatalities.

Meanwhile, the Americas recorded 954 cases with 94 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 622 Filipinos in the region have recovered and 238 have died. — DVM, GMA News
