12 more Filipinos abroad catch COVID-19; total cases rise to 18,325 -DFA

Twelve more Filipinos living abroad have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total count of cases to 18,325, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday.

According to GMA News reporter JP Soriano's tweet, DFA recorded 5,947 active cases among Filipinos in 94 other nations.

No new deaths were recorded as 13 more Filipinos abroad survived from the ailment. This brought the total lives lost and total recoveries to 1,145 and 12,233, respectively.

COVID-19 cases among Filipinos in the Middle East and Africa still recorded the highest number of infections, with 10,453 total cases, including 747 deaths and 5,902 recoveries.

Filipinos residing in Asia and Pacific Region recorded 3,559 total COVID-19 cases, with 29 patients who lost to COVID-19 while 2,410 survived the disease.

Filipinos in Europe documented 3,356 total cases of COVID-19, including 130 fatalities and 2,299 recoveries.

In Americas, Filipinos sickened with COVID-19 rose to 957. But the death toll reached 239 and recoveries were at 622. -MDM, GMA News
