DFA: 5 more Filipinos abroad get COVID-19

Five more Filipinos overseas have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 18,545, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Monday.

The DFA said total recoveries and fatalities remained at 11,349 and 1,160, respectively.

So far, there are 6,036 active cases undergoing treatment.

The Middle East/Africa remained to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 10,465 with 758 deaths and 5,912 recoveries.

The Asia Pacific Region followed with 3,709 infections including 29 fatalities and 2,495 recoveries.

In Europe, a total of 3,388 Filipinos were infected with the virus, of which 130 have died, while 2,317 have recovered.

The Americas, meanwhile, has recorded 983 cases with 243 fatalities and 625 recoveries.—AOL, GMA News
