DFA: 10 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19

Ten more Filipinos abroad on Friday have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 18,581, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also reported that total recoveries rose to 11,369 after three more recovered from the illness.

Meanwhile, the death toll among Filipinos abroad remained at 1,162.

At present, there are 6,050 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 3,741 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 1,198 patients still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 2,512 and 31, respectively.

Meanwhile, 10,465 Filipinos have tested positive in the Middle East or Africa. Of this, 3,794 are active cases, 5,913 have recovered and 758 have died.

Europe has also reported 3,392 confirmed cases with 943 patients undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 2,319 recoveries and 130 fatalities.

In the Americas, a total of 983 Filipinos have tested positive with 115 active cases. A total of 625 patients have recovered while 243 have succumbed to the illness.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
