Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 18,607 —DFA

The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 18,607 on Saturday with 26 new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Meanwhile, total recoveries and fatalities were recorded at 11,369 and 1,162, respectively.

At present, there are 6,076 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 3,767 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 1,224 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 2,512 patients in the region have recovered while 31 have died.

The Middle East or Africa has, meanwhile, reported 10,465 cases with 3,794 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 5,913 and 758 respectively.

In Europe, a total of 3,392 Filipinos have tested positive for the illness, of which 943 are still undergoing treatment, 2,319 have recovered, and 130 have died.

Meanwhile, a total of 983 cases were recorded in the Americas with 115 still undergoing treatment. The region has reported 625 recoveries and 243 fatalities. -MDM, GMA News
