DFA: 4 Filipinos abroad recover, COVID-19 survivors now at 11,396

Four more Filipinos in other countries have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019, bringing the total number of recoveries to 11,396, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Thursday.

However, data posted on DFA Twitter indicate one additional COVID-19 infection among Filipinos abroad, bringing the total caseload to 18,634.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 death toll among Filipinos overseas stood at 1,163, with no new fatalities.

Filipinos in the Middle East and Africa reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases. DFA said a total of 10,467 infections were reported among Filipinos in the region, of which,  5,913 recovered while 760 died.

In the Americas, a total of 983 Filipinos were infected. Of the number, 242 died and 627 recovered.

Also, the DFA has recorded a total of 3,394 COVID-19 infections among Filipinos in Europe, including 130 deaths and 2,320 survivors.

In the Asia Pacific Region, COVID-19 cases among Filipinos reached a total of 3,790. Of the total, 2,536 recovered while 31 died. Consuelo Marquez/LBG, GMA News
