Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 20,424 –DFA

Two more Filipinos abroad tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 20,424, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday.

The DFA also announced that total recoveries climbed to 12,096 after three more recovered from the illness while the death toll remained at 1,220.

Meanwhile, there are 7,108 active cases.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 4,376 confirmed cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 1,637 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 2,706 and 33, respectively.

Meanwhile, 11,532 Filipinos have tested positive in the Middle East or Africa. Of this, 4,426 are active cases, 6,293 have recovered, and 813 have died.

Europe has also reported 3,530 confirmed cases with 930 patients undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 2,470 recoveries and 130 fatalities.

In the Americas, a total of 986 Filipinos have tested positive with 115 active cases. A total of 627 patients have recovered while 244 have died. — DVM, GMA News
