DFA reports 7 new COVID-19 infections among Filipinos abroad

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported seven new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among Filipinos overseas, pushing the total tally to 20,431.

According to the DFA, total recoveries remained at 12,096.


The death toll also remained at 1,220.

So far, there are 7,115 patients undergoing treatment for the disease.

The Middle East/Africa remained the region with the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos abroad at 11,532 with 813 deaths and 6,293 recoveries.

The Asia Pacific Region followed with 4,383 infections including 33 fatalities and 2,706 recoveries.

In Europe, 3,530 Filipinos have been infected with the respiratory illness. 130 of whom have died, while 2,470 have recovered.

Further, in the Americas, 986 cases have been recorded with 244 deaths and 627 recoveries. — DVM, GMA News
