7 more Pinoys abroad recover from COVID —DFA
Seven more Filipinos staying in other countries recovered from the coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of survivors to 12,228.
On Twitter, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) figures on Thursday showed that one more Filipino abroad was infected with the severe respiratory ailment, raising the total count of cases among Filipinos abroad to 20,662.
The DFA received reports confirming 1 new COVID-19 case, 7 new recoveries, and no new fatality among Filipinos abroad. Of the total virus cases, 7,207 are active cases of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, there were no recorded additional deaths among Filipinos living abroad, retaining the fatality tally to 1,227.
In the Middle East and Africa, 11,741 cases of the severe viral ailment were recorded among Filipinos there. Of the number, 6,398 are recoveries while 820 are deaths.
Filipinos in the Asia Pacific Region recorded 4,403 infections, including 2,731 recoveries and 33 fatalities.
On the other hand, the total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos in Europe reached 3,532. Of these, 2,472 survived the illness while 130 lost to the disease.
Meanwhile, a total of 986 Filipinos living in the Americas contracted the disease. This includes 244 deaths and 627 recoveries.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
