28 more Pinoys abroad sickened with COVID-19; active cases at 7,289

Twenty-eight more Filipinos staying in other countries were diagnosed with COVID-19, increasing the total cases to 20,909, the foreign affairs department said Monday.

In its latest tally, the Department of Foreign Affairs also recorded 7,289 COVID-19 active cases among Filipinos living in other countries.

Six more Filipinos abroad died after battling with COVID-19, raising the death toll to 1,243.

COVID-19 recoveries climbed to 12,377, with two new ones.

In the Middle East and Africa, 11,861 Filipinos were sickened with the severe viral ailment. This includes 6,504 recoveries and 836 deaths.

The Asia Pacific Region recorded 4,508 infections among Filipinos, including 2,762 recoveries and 33 fatalities.

On the other hand, COVID-19-hit Filipinos in Europe reached 3,554. Of the number, 2,484 are COVID-19 survivors while 130 are deaths.

For Filipinos in the Americas, a total of 986 COVID-19 cases were recorded. This includes 244 deaths and 627 recoveries.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
