OFW asks gov't help after being stranded in Ethiopia airport for 8 days

An overseas Filipino worker is calling for the Philippine government's help as she is stranded in the Ethiopia airport for eight days now.

In a "State of the Nation" report, the Filipina, who works in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said her employer arranged her three connecting flights to return home to the Philippines.

The worker will be flying from Saudi Arabia to Ethiopia, then Indonesia, then Malaysia before arriving in the Philippines.

But her flight from Ethiopia arrived late in Indonesia, which led her to miss her flight going to Malaysia.

This prompted her to return to Ethiopia airport, where she has been stranded for more than a week.

Asked for reaction from Philippine authorities, GMA News has yet to receive a reply on the matter.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
