A gay couple, including a Filipino, became victims of hate crimes by four men in Birmingham Gay Village in England.

According to The Guardian, Rob and Patrick were just outside a bar in the village over the weekend as four men on board a vehicle shouted homophobic remarks at them and attacked them.

The two victims suffered from cut injuries in the attack. Patrick was also left unconscious.

Police are now investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators.

On Twitter, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. ordered the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom to help the couple.

He also condemned the attack, saying he was "absolutely disgusted."

"That's a Filipino. @DFAPHL  I expect our London Embassy to take them in and care for them. Make sure it happens. Right away. I want to see a photo of these victims inside our Embassy," he said.—LDF, GMA News
