193 more Pinoys overseas contract COVID-19; total tally at 22,906 —DFA

A total of 193 more Filipinos abroad were infected with COVID-19, increasing the total tally to 22,906, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.

According to DFA figures, 8,609 COVID-19-infected Filipinos overseas are still undertaking treatment.

Meanwhile, 120 more Filipinos staying in other countries have recovered, raising the total recoveries to 12,928.

Death toll among Filipinos overseas reached 1,269, with two new fatalities.

This week, DFA said only the Americas did not report new COVID-19 infections.

The Middle East and Africa still reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad, recording a total of 12,965 COVID-19 cases with 6,568 recoveries, 5,478 active cases, and 919 deaths.

On the other hand, 5,273 total cases were documented in Asia and the Pacific region. Of the number, 2,060 are active cases, 73 are deaths, and 3,140 are recoveries.

In the Americas, total COVID-19 cases remained at 1,017 cases. This includes 112 still undergoing treatment, 658 recovered patients, and 247 fatalities.

In Europe, 3,561 Filipinos abroad have been infected with COVID-19. Of this figure, 2,562 are recoveries, 959 are active cases, and 130 are deaths.—AOL, GMA News
