Father of 'maltreated' OFW in Saudi Arabia seeks help

The father of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is asking for help, according to a report on "Saksi" on Friday.

His child was allegedly maltreated by employers and that it has been a month since they last conversed.

The OFW was physically abused by the employer, who beat up and poured boiling water on his employee.

His child sent photos of bruises to some friends.

The cellphone and passport were also confiscated by the employer and prevented the OFW from going home last February.

The last conversation with the victim was in October. 

The matter has been raised to the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia and to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA.  -- BAP, GMA News
