Pinoy hurt in drone attack in Saudi Arabia —Philippine Embassy

A Filipino was among those injured in a drone attack on Abha airport in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed on Saturday. 

The embassy did not identify the Filipino but said he is "in a stable condition and is being treated in a hospital with the support of his employer."

"Our team at the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah has been in touch with the affected Filipino national to extend assistance," the embassy said.

at the Abha airport when shrapnel from an explosive-laden drone was intercepted by air defenses, quoting the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthi group based in Yemen. 

The embassy added it is coordinating with local authorities and the Filipino community to ensure Filipinos are safe and secure in Saudi Arabia.

It advised Filipinos to "remain vigilant, monitor security advisories."

For any emergency, Filipinos may contact the emergency hotlines of the embassy or the Philippine Consulate General, the embassy said.
