Qatar to have more jobs for Pinoys as it prepares to host 2022 FIFA World Cup —labor attaché

More jobs in Qatar will be available for Filipinos as the country prepares to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November, Philippine Labor Attaché Adam Musa said on Friday.

The jobs will be in the hospitality and tourism sectors, Musa said during a briefing organized by the Department of Labor and Employment.

Musa said many Filipinos are returning to Qatar due to the improving COVID-19 situation.

From 3,000 job contracts processed in six months in 2020, the Philippine government is now processing 3,000 job contracts every month, he said.

Employers in Qatar must assume the quarantine costs of employees and new hires, the labor official said.
