Carina Dayondon, first Filipina to scale 7 Summits, now back in PHL
Lieutenant Carina Dayondon, the first Filipina to scale the Seven Summits, arrived back in Manila on Saturday night.
Dayondon was warmly welcomed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m. by her colleagues at the Philippine Coast Guard, according to Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos.

The mountaineer thanked all those who supported her in her quest to reach the Seven Summits, the highest mountains in seven continents.
Dayondon scaled the following summits:
- Mt. Denali in North America in 2006
- Mt. Everest in Asia in 2007
- Mt. Elbrus in Europe in 2013
- Mt. Kosciuszko in Australia in 2014
- Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in 2015
- Mt. Aconcagua in South America in 2017
- Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica in 2018
Dayondon who hails from Bukidnon started her journey as a mountaineer back in her college days when she joined a group of mountain-climbing enthusiasts.
Even after becoming a first lieutenant in the PCG, she did not give up her passion to climb mountains.
Dayondon is also one of three Filipinas to reach the summit of Mt. Everest in 2007. —KG, GMA News
