UAE-based Pinay CEO is MEED's 2019 female leader of the year

A Dubai-based Filipina CEO is 2019's recipient of "Female Leader of the Year" of the prestigious Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) Awards.

An article of "The Filipino Times" (TFT) –a UAE-based newspaper and digital platform –reported that awardee Dr. Karen Remo, CEO and Co-Founder of New Perspective Media (NPM) Group, received the award from the UAE Prime Minister’s Office Executive Director for Government Accelerators Sultan Alshaali.

Dr. Remo of NPM, the publisher of the TFT, made it big in the field of marketing and communications.

"With the ‘Female Leader of the Year’ recognition—one of the highest distinctions in the MEED Awards—the Filipina CEO has raised the Philippine flag in the international business landscape, a ground-breaking achievement and accolade for a Filipino national in the Gulf Cooperation Council," the TFT article said.

Dr. Remo was conferred with the accolade due to her “indomitable entrepreneurial spirit that allowed her to launch impressive portfolio as part of the NPM Group,” it added.

More than 250 nominations were received for this year, making the 2019 competition most competitive since the award body's inception. —LBG, GMA News
