The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) spearheaded the start of Filipinos Values Month this November with a number of activities held on Sunday at the Rizal Park in Manila.
Dubbed as "Bálay Pinoy," the month-long celebration is centered on the theme "Halagahan, ang puso ng pagka-Pilipino," where the Filipino values and the heart of the Filipino identity take center stage.
A series of art and activity booths in Rizal Park kicked off the festivities on Sunday, as well as an opening program featuring theatrical performances at the Open Air Auditorium followed by an Outdoor Film Showing.
There was also a contest to make a miniature replica of the Jose Rizal Shrine, where the participating kids were seen carefully cutting the printed images of the National Hero.
The festivities will continue its online presence during the celebration through Bálay Pinoy's official Facebook page.
