'I-Witness' moves to a new timeslot, kicks off with Kara David's "Alagang Peste"

Heeding the clamor of many viewers for an earlier timeslot, two-time George Foster Pebody awardee I-Witness now airs on Saturdays at 10:15pm starting February 8.

Hosted by topnotch documentarists Howie Severino, Kara David, Jay Taruc, and Sandra Aguinaldo, I-Witness continues to deliver first-rate documentaries that often serve as eye-opener to the viewing public.

For its premiere this weekend, I-Witness kicks off with Kara David documenting the plight of people affected by the infestation of rats in a town in Isabela and Vitas, Tondo.

“ALAGANG PESTE”
Dokumentaryo ni Kara David
Airing date: February 8, 2014

They are nimble, they multiply fast and they eat anything. They may be small, but they are feared. They are carriers of disease. Rats: a long-time pest to humans.

The residents of Vitas, Tondo, Manila live with rats. Although these are enemies of every Vitas household, rats roam free in the community. As  night sets in, they become helpless against the pests.  These rats chew on anything, be it food, trash, even the residents themselves.

It is the opposite in the farming community of Luna, Isabela. It is the rats who fear humans.  Rats run away from people like the Luyon brothers. Quick and unforgiving, they are out to get rats gnawing at their palay. Now is not the time to be helpless against these pests that destroy their crops.  Especially these rats can be a source of living as these become food on their plates.

Catch “Alagang Peste” this Saturday, February 8, 10:15 pm, after Celebrity Bluff. For comments and live chat, send tweets  to @karadavid and @IWitnessGMA, #chatwithkara.
