“Pumanaw na Alaala”

Sa gitna ng kagubatan, isang himlayan ang tila nalimutan na.

Sa paglipas ng panahon, nailipat na ang ibang nakahimlay dito sa mas modernong lugar. Pero may ilang naiwan.

Nito lamang taon, nakipag-ugnayan ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Pitogo sa National Commission for Culture and the Arts o NCCA para tulungan silang muling madiskubre ang kasaysayan ng bayan, maisaayos ang mga nasisirang istraktura, at matuklasan ang mga natabunang alaala.

Bumuo ang Local Government Unit ng grupong tinawag nilang Pitogo Cultural Mappers upang maisagawa ang misyon. Sa pagsama ni Sandra Aguinaldo sa sementeryong ito, ano kaya ang kanilang matutuklasan?

Deep in the jungles of Quezon province, a resting place for the departed has long been forgotten.

Some rich families moved the remains of their loved ones to newly built cemeteries. But some were left behind.

Just this year, the local government of Pitogo partnered with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to rediscover the cultural heritage of the town. They formed a group of teachers called Pitogo Cultural Mappers.

Sandra Aguinaldo accompanies the group in scouring the dilapidated tombs. Whatever the case maybe, the Pitogo community wants to resurrect the lost glory of the town by exhuming the tangible properties that have long been buried.
