By RICHA NORIEGA, GMA News

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Tuesday launched the “Science for the People (SFTP)” book series, which aims “to bring science closer to the people.”

The book series consists of five books titled “Science for Human Capital,” “Science for Cooperation,” “Science for Innovation,” “Science for Change,” and “Science for Communities.”

The department said the books feature stories on research and development discoveries, citing their “role in forming meaningful collaborations between the government, academe, and industry.”

DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Peña said the book series was based on the discoveries and experimentation data gathered by scientists, engineers, and researchers.

“In communicating our work, we are often asked to create a narrative to tell a story, a story of our journey in discovery. And this SFTP book series is a testament to the dedicated work that has been done with each step taken, leading to the road where science meets and serves the people,” Dela Peña said during the book launch.
