A computer security firm has warned users of devices using Google's Android OS against a rogue version of the game "Farm Frenzy 3." Trend Micro said the fake app is being hosted on a malicious site in Russia, which in past months had served rogue versions of Angry Birds Space and Instagram. "The perpetrators behind this fake app are hoping that users, who are not discriminate enough, may download their malicious version, which is detected by Trend Micro as ANDROIDOS_FAKE.DQ," Trend Micro said in a blog post. It said users who try to play the app will get a message whose buttons may trigger an SMS message to some premium numbers and incur unnecessary charges. Worse, the app may also take users to a malicious website, it added. Trend Micro said this is aside from a recently discovered malware that masquerades as an Adobe Flash Player app for Android OS. — LBG, GMA News
