Google Chrome, Drive coming to Apple iOS devices

Users of Apple's iPhone, iPod and iPad devices can now use Google's browser Chrome and its cloud-based storage service Google Drive. Google announced at its annual developer conference Thursday that Chrome and Google Drive are coming to Apple iOS devices, tech site CNET reported. Adding Chrome to iOS devices means Google users can get a more consistent experience across multiple devices, including their iPhones and iPads, it said. Brian Rakowski, vice president of Chrome, showed how the browser will work on iOS devices, including syncing settings across multiple devices. Also, Google said its Drive service, which lets people store and share documents via the cloud, will now work on iOS devices as well. The service, which Google claims already has 10 million users, will also work on Chrome OS devices. "We brought many of the best features of Drive to mobile," said Clay Bavor, director of product for Google Apps. CNET said one of the key features of Drive that Bavor showed off during the keynote was that images can be scanned and stored as PDF files in Google Drive – and are searchable. Photos are searchable, even if they aren't properly labeled. — LBG, GMA News
