'Retina' iTunes 11 coming soon, says Mac rumor site

Apple Inc. is giving its iTunes music management software the Retina treatment, with high-resolution images of images and galleries of artists in iTunes 11's Music Store layout.

 

This was contained in a request by Apple to record labels to submit pictures and galleries of their artists, as posted on a forum of Apple rumor site MacRumors.

 

"Starting with iTunes 11, which is about to be released within the next days, users have the possibility to view pictures and galleries to every artist in iTunes ... All you need is the link to your artist in iTunes and images (with) 1200 pixels or more," said the post on MacRumors ().

 

MacRumors noted iTunes 11 was delayed at the end of October and is scheduled to ship instead by end-November.

 

It said the email on its forum had been sent to artists by German music distribution service Feiyr.
