Smart launches iPhone 5 in PHL

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) officially started offering the iPhone 5 in the Philippines today, December 14. ,In simultaneous events across Metro Manila, the telecommunications company counted down to midnight and feted the first subscribers lined up for the service. With an iPhone Plan 2499, users can get the 16GB or 32GB model for free, or pay an additional PHP 6,000 for the 64GB model. Meanwhile, the older iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 will also be available for free on the iPhone Plan 2499 beginning today. iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone to date, completely redesigned to feature a new 4-inch Retina display and Apple-designed A6 processor running. — TJD, GMA News
