Gamers, start up your smartphones and tablets: the much-awaited successor to the hit game "Temple Run" has just rolled out.
The "Temple Run 2" game is initially available for Apple devices running iOS and will roll out an Android version as early as next week, The Next Web reported.
"The game follows the same form as its predecessor — which has been downloaded more than 170 million times — and the main characters run across all manner of landscapes as they flee the dreadful temple beasts that chase them," The Next Web said.
Like in the original game, "Temple Run 2" has players swipe across the screen to have the character "jump, slide, turn and move out of the way of objects in their way."
But unlike the previous version, the title is available for free, The Next Web said. It added the developer gets in-app payments for items such as power-ups and coin doublers.
"Temple Run" is one of the most successful games to date, getting more than 100 million downloads in August. It doubled its numbers in just four months after releasing a version for Android.
Developer Imangi even signed a deal with Disney/Pixar to jointly develop "Temple Run: Brave," which hit Android and iOS last June. — TJD, GMA News
