Gamers with smartphones running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 may have something to rejoice about: the popular "Temple Run" has arrived.

In a blog post, Microsoft's Michael Stroh said Windows Phone 8 devices are now the latest home of the addictive game where players "turn, jump and slide" to getting hidden treasure.

"A must-have game for your Windows Phone," he said.

But PC Magazine pointed out the "Temple Run" coming out for Windows Phone is the original version and not the newer "Temple Run 2."

It added "Temple Run" was first released for devices running Apple Inc.'s iOS platform in 2011.

Stroh also said several other games have arrived for Windows Phone, including "Chaos Rings" and the exclusive "Gravity Guy 2."

He said this is due to new Windows Phone 8-compatible gaming engines that "make it much easier for programmers to quickly create Windows Phone versions of their Android and iOS games." — TJD, GMA News
