Tekken Revolution gets new vampire character

Since its release in June, Namco Bandai’s latest entry in the Tekken series “Tekken Revolution” has earned much support and criticism, yet remains a successful gambit and Playstation 3 exclusive.

While lacking the tag features and other prominent combo modifiers seen in past games like Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the free-to-play brawler is definitely gaining traction, and is certainly following its arcade roots by allowing players from any corner of the earth to dish it out in fair fighting form.

To keep things fresh for dedicated players, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada and his team have been releasing a stream of updates for the game, which yield new and interesting gameplay.

As of August, Tekken Revolution has already beefed up its menu by improving balance and network issues, and primarily adding new characters like Sergei Dragunov and Devil Jin, as well as a “Warm-Up Space” mode for players to train and use their favorite fighters with.

Additionally, the game has also received some optional content users can purchase at the Playstation Network store, such as extra costumes and “Reset Drinks” that allows players to reset the stats of their specific fighter back to default settings. This may sound like minor additions, but it factors in the long run, and adds consistent replay value mechanics to the game itself.

Following a recent poll in the official Tekken site that gave fans a chance to participate in voting for a “new character” to be included in “Tekken Revolution”, Katsuhiro Harada announced at Comic-Con that an as-yet unnamed female vampire character had won the competition.

This character’s background sees her having ties to Tekken character Lili de Rochefort and her family, so it remains to be seen whether this creature of the night will share similar moves with the graceful Monegasque beauty. Female Vampire beat out the likes of “Shin Kamiya” from Tekken: Blood Vengeance and “Female Paul”, so it’ll be interesting to see how she fares in the King of Iron Fist online setting.

Finally, Harada has also given an announcement and warning to players who disconnect intentionally or “Rage Quit” while playing Tekken Revolution.

Via his officially Twitter page (https://twitter.com/Harada_TEKKEN), Harada stated that the game has a detection system in place, and unlike other fighting games like Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition where Rage Quitting is exploited and a “disconnecting hell” makes them fight against each other, Harada implies that there is no escape, and violators will be banned outright from the game by Namco Bandai. — TJD, GMA News
