Tekken 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 coming to Southeast Asia


In anticipation of Tekken 7’s console launch, the Tekken 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 is heading to Southeast Asia to pit the best players against each other in a series of grueling matches. The competition is scheduled to hit the region between October and November, Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia announced.

The Tekken 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 aims to round up the greatest fighters from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Players will be fighting not only for glory, but also the opportunity to represent their countries in the King of Iron Fist Finals in Japan, which is scheduled for December 10, 2016.

The tournament begins with the Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia Qualifier from October 7 to 9, 2016. It will be part of the Game Start event in Singapore.

The Philippines Qualifier is from October 28 to 30, 2016, and will take place at ESGS 2016 in the Philippines. For more information about ESGS 2016, read our article here

Lastly, we have the Thailand Qualifier on November 5, 2016. The contest will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, but the exact venue has yet to be revealed.

In addition to earning a spot in the King of Iron Fist Finals in Japan, the first place winner of each Qualifier gets to avail of a sponsored flight to Japan, along with free accommodations.

Each of the second place winners will be awarded a 1 terabyte version of the slim PlayStation 4.

Each third place winner will win one arcade stick controller (Brand TBD), along with a Lucky Chloe Bishoujo figure from Kotobukiya.
