Microsoft bids farewell to Internet Explorer 11 in 2021

Microsoft will officially bid farewell to its web browser Internet Explorer 11 in 2021, the company announced on Monday.

According to their website, Microsoft Teams will no longer support IE 11 starting November 30 this year. On August 17 next year, Microsoft 365 teams will no longer support the web browser.

"This means that after the above dates, customers will have a degraded experience or will be unable to connect to Microsoft 365 apps and services on IE 11," Microsoft wrote.

"By the dates listed above, customers should no longer access Microsoft 365 apps and services using IE 11, but we want to be clear that IE 11 isn’t going away and that our customers’ own legacy IE 11 apps and investments will continue to work," its statement read.

Microsoft said they will also be dropping its support for the existing Legacy version of Microsoft Edge on March 9, 2021.

The company said new devices and future Windows feature updates will include the new Microsoft Edge browser. —Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
