PAGASA: Typhoon Goring exits PAR, weakens further


Typhoon Goring (international name Halola) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at around 12 a.m. Saturday even as it weakened further, according to weather service PAGASA.

At 10 p.m., PAGASA had located Goring 1,045 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes, moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

Goring had maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center, with gusts of up to 160 kph. Estimated rainfall within the typhoon's 300 km diameter was from moderate to heavy.

PAGASA had earlier projected that Goring would by 1,030 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes by Saturday morning. — DVM, GMA News
