LPA east of Mindanao may intensify into depression in next 24-48 hrs

The low-pressure area spotted east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur may develop into a tropical depression in a day or two, state weather bureau PAGASA said early Saturday afternoon.

In a report on Super Radyo dzBB, PAGASA's Shiela Reyes said that the LPA was spotted 380 kilometers east of Surigao City before noon, and is forecast to intensify into a tropical depression within 24 to 48 hours. 

Residents in some parts of Mindanao, especially in the Caraga region, will experience thunderstorms.

Other parts of Mindanao and the Visayas will experience light to moderate rain showers, PAGASA said. —LBG, GMA News
