By JAMIL SANTOS, GMA News

Tropical Depression Henry has intensified into a tropical storm as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Tuesday morning.

In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin advisory, PAGASA lifted the tropical cyclone warning it had earlier raised in northern Luzon as Henry moved away from the Philippines.

Henry was last spotted 415 kms west of Calayan, Cagayan, winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 80 kph. It is currently moving west at 45 kph west towards China.

PAGASA also said a low pressure area being monitored east of Luzon could develop into a storm in the next 48 hours.

It was located at 915 kms east of Aparri, Cagayan and is expected to develop into a storm in two days.

The southwest monsoon is causing rains in the different parts of the country, particularly in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, Palawan and Western Visayas, and is expected to intensify through the LPA.

No tropical cyclone warning have been issued.
