Yellow Rainfall alert raised over Metro Manila, 5 other areas

Weather service PAGASA placed a Yellow Rainfall Warning alert, which warns of possible heavy rain (7.5 to 15 mm/hour) in the next three hours, over Metro Manila; Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Lian, Calatagan, Calaca, Lemery, and Laurel); Cavite; Bulacan; Zambales; and Bataan.

Low-lying and river bank sections of all these areas were also warned against possible flooding because of the downpour.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rain would affect Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna, Rizal, northern Quezon, and the rest of Batangas for the next three hours.

The inclement conditions across Luzon was due to the southwest monsoon, enhanced by Tropical Storm Yagi (formerly Tropical Storm Karding) which was outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. — DVM, GMA News
