Southwest Monsoon to bring rainshowers to Northern and Central Luzon


The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting Northern and Central Luzon on Monday and is expected to bring rainshowers in these areas, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley Region, Central Luzon and Rizal will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

No gale warning was raised, but coastal waters in Luzon will be moderate to rough with waves ranging from 1.2 to 2.8 meters tall.

However, in Visayas and Mindanao, waters will be slight to moderate with waves ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters tall.

  • Baguio: 17ºC-19ºC
  • Olongapo: 26ºC-30ºC
  • Metro Manila: 26ºC-32ºC
  • Tagaytay: 23ºC-29ºC
  • Lipa: 27ºC-32ºC
  • Legazpi: 27ºC-33ºC
  • Puerto Princesa: 25ºC-33ºC
  • Iloilo/Bacolod: 26ºC-33ºC
  • Metro Cebu: 27ºC-33ºC
  • Tacloban: 26ºC-32ºC
  • Cagayan de Oro: 23ºC-33ºC
  • Valencia: 20ºC-30ºC
  • Metro Davao: 25ºC-33ºC
  • Zamboanga: 25ºC-34ºC

PAGASA said a low pressure area (LPA) in the east is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). However, it has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression. The LPA is expected to enter PAR on Wednesday.
