Moderate to heavy rain expected in parts of northern Luzon

Some areas in northern Luzon are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain, according to PAGASA’s rainfall advisory on Thursday.

Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Natonin in Mountain Province, and nine of Ifugao's municipalities—Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo, Mayoyao, Lagawe, Lamut, Asipulo, Tinoc, Kiangan and Hungduan—may experience moderate to heavy rain which may persist from one to two hours.

The same weather condition is expected over parts of Pangasinan, including Dagupan City and the towns of Binmaley, Calasiao, Sta.Barbara, Mangaldan, SanFabian, SanJacinto, Pozzorubio, Sison, Natividad, SanNicholas, SanManuel, SanQuintin, Tayug and Umingan.

Light to moderate rain is expected over the rest of Pangasinan and Ifugao  and nearby areas.

PAGASA advised residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures against possible landslides, mudslides, rock slides and flash floods.

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, Tropical Depression Marilyn was located at 1, 265 kilometer east of Casiguran, Aurora, maintaining its strength with maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour near and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
