Ramon maintains strength, to bring rains in Bicol region, Cagayan, Samar


Tropical storm Ramon maintained its strength as it moves west northeast, and is expected to bring occassional heavy rains in the Bicol region and several northern Luzon provinces, according to state weather bureau PAGASA and a report on GMA's Saksi.

In its 11 p.m. Severe Weather Bulletin, it said that between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains may be experienced over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and the eastern section of Cagayan and Isabela.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, and the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, and Bicol Region.

Storm Signal No. 2 is hoisted over Catanduanes province, while Signal No. 1 is over  Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon in Luzon and over Eastern Samar and Northern Samar in the Visayas.

Sea travel remains risky especially for small sea crafts, over the seaboards of areas under tropical storm warning signal due to rough sea conditions.

According to PAGASA, Strong Signal No. 1 may be raised over Polillo Islands, Northern Aurora, and Eastern Isabela in its next bulletin, which will be issued at 5 a.m. on Thursday.

At 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Ramon was estimated at 305 kilometers northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It is maintaining its strength as it moves west northeast at 15 kph, PAGASA said. —LDF, GMA News
